What to Expect:

When you walk in the doors of Christ the Redeemer Church, you will be greeted with a smile. We encourage you to stop by our Get Connected area in the main foyer to pick up a welcome packet, as well as some great information on what Redeemer has to offer.

We are a Convergent church. As such, you will find elements from the three major streams of the Christian church (Evangelical, Sacramental and Charismatic) incorporated into our services. We begin with a "Call to Worship" and we open each service with prayer. We then go into a time of passionate praise and worship. We encourage everyone to participate in whatever way you feel comfortable (singing, clapping, etc...) There are times when other forms of worship (shouting, kneeling, prophesy, etc...) may occur, but everything is kept in a structured environment (1 Corinthians 14:40).

After praise and worship, the children (grades 1 - 5) are dismissed to Children's Church, and designated congregation members come forward to read the Scriptures. We follow a three-year lectionary for our readings. At the end of each reading, the reader will say "The Word of the Lord" and the congregation responds, "Thanks be to God."

At this point in the service we have a time to "pass the peace." This is where we greet one another and spread His joy. It is common for us to say to one another, "The peace of the Lord be with you," and respond with, "And also with you."

Once people have had a few moments to greet each other, we have a a brief time of important announcements, and then proceed to taking up an offering. During the offering, the worship team will provide us with a special musical selection.

The sermon follows the offering. The sermon is usually preached directly from that week's Scripture Readings. It is always taken directly from the Word of God. We encourage people to respond with "Amen's," "Hallelujah's," or other appropriate responses to the message.

Every service we serve communion.  The ushers release  the congregation by row to come forward and receive the elements.  We have cushions in front of the altar for people to kneel on, or they may stand in the center if they prefer. First, the bread is placed in the hand of the congregant. Next, the cup is offered and the bread is dipped in the cup and consumed. After taking communion, we always have prayer teams available on the sides for anyone desiring prayer or looking to make or renew a commitment to the Lord. After Communion, a blessing is shared and the congregation responds, "Thanks be to God!"

After the service, you can meet the pastor and other leaders of the church in the Get Connected area. This is a great place to ask questions and get information on opportunities Redeemer has to offer.

We hope you'll plan on visiting Christ the Redeemer Church soon! We would love to meet you!
